The other day at work I pointed out to a coworker that he looked upset. He proceeded to take me to the side to say a few things to me, ending with “how would you like it if you worked somewhere for two years and some new kid came up to you and said ‘you look upset?’” As he was walking away I had another thought. What if you worked somewhere for two years and were upset, but...

Why am I so sad? There’s nothing particularly bad about my life - I have my health, a job, a few friends, food, and a place to live. I get out to have fun once and a while and try to relax when I have the time. So I ask you, why is there this underlying sadness in my life? Why am I so sad?

The last time I went to the beach I wanted to swim out as far as I can. I wanted to swim until I couldn’t possibly swim any more. It didn’t matter if I made it back or if I sunk to the bottom and drowned, I just wanted to swim out as far as I can. That’s why I didn’t go in the water, because I would never have made it back.

"Dodgeball"
Lance Armstrong: Quit? You know once I was thinking about quitting when I was diagnosed with brain lung and testicular cancer, all at the same time. But with the love and support of my friends and family I got back on my bike and won the Tour de France five times in a row. But I'm sure you have a good reason to quit. So what are you dying from that's keeping you from the finals?
Peter: Right now it feels a little bit like, shame.
Lance Armstrong: Well I guess if a person never quit when the going got tough, they wouldn't have anything to regret for the rest of their life. Good luck to you Peter, I'm sure this decision won't haunt you forever.

In the Darkness
“I’m yours,” she said.      Yes, but only for this moment. This period of time were all we can feel are our legs and arms intertwined, our bodies eloped together. There is only us in the darkness, nothing is beyond our pale flesh wrapped around each other. Your whispers and our breathing are the only noises that penetrates the stillness of the night. But tomorrow there will...

Thought of the Day: Whip Cream Party
So, hear of alcoholic whip cream? Good. I’ve got an idea. Everyone goes out and gets a can of it, then we all show up to a party. The catch: the only thing you can wear is the whip cream (and shoes). The second catch: everyone else at the party is allowed to lick it off of you. First person to lose all their whip cream wins. My recommendation is caramel or chocolate whip cream. \     ...
